A Business AI Can’t Replace: Why This Entrepreneur Chose Home Healthcare

Jeff Zeitz

As artificial intelligence reshapes industries, entrepreneurs are looking for business opportunities that remain resilient and human-centered. For Jeff Zeitz, that search led him to BrightStar Care, a home healthcare franchise that combines meaningful community impact with a stable, scalable business model.

Choosing an Opportunity That AI Can’t Replace

Jeff has spent most of his professional career in consumer packaged goods but grew up in a family business, where he developed an entrepreneurial spirit that guided him throughout his career. He eventually became Vice President of Sales for two divisions at a domestic manufacturer based in Arizona. On the personal side, however, Jeff wanted a change after spending his entire career buying and selling products.

“I wanted to run something that was more meaningful: where I could balance financial rewards, be in control of my own destiny, and help other people.”

When Jeff evaluated potential industries, he paid close attention to long-term sustainability. While some sectors face increasing disruption from automation and AI, he saw home healthcare as fundamentally different.

“From a practical standpoint, I was looking at industries that I thought would be resistant to AI and automation,” Jeff explains. “I don’t think the personal touch in home healthcare is going anywhere.”

Caregiving remains a deeply human profession that requires compassion, judgment, and trust. As demand for in-home healthcare continues to grow, more entrepreneurs are recognizing the stability of businesses that directly support families.

What Made BrightStar Care Stand Out

When Jeff was researching which franchise opportunities to pursue, a franchise consultant recommended BrightStar Care. Our brand stood out for the long-term business potential and our commitment to providing higher-quality care.

“The nurse-led care of patients was something that helped me feel comfortable entering the space without a clinical background,” Jeff explains. “From a compliance perspective and a care perspective, it gave me confidence.”

Jeff was also attracted to the strength of our business model. BrightStar Care locations have the opportunity to generate multiple revenue streams, such as medical staffing, national accounts, and the full continuum of care.

“I really liked the multiple revenue streams,” Jeff says. “It’s a really nice business model along with the ability to do work that’s more fulfilling.”

Building a Rewarding Business

As Jeff prepares to open his location, one of the milestones he looks forward to most is hearing directly from the people his team will serve. Positive patient feedback and knowing that his team made a meaningful difference in someone’s care represent the kind of impact that motivates him as he begins this next chapter.

Jeff is also thinking ahead about building a team and expanding his presence in the region. With nearby available territories, he has already positioned himself for future expansion while focusing on establishing a strong culture from the start.

“Sharing the BrightStar Care core values with candidates has been one of my favorite parts so far,” Jeff explains. “A lot of the people I’ve spoken with really connect with those values, and that’s something I’m excited to carry through with our team as we grow.”

Reconnecting with the Community

Opening a BrightStar Care location is also a return for Jeff. Earlier in his career, he operated a restaurant in the Plymouth area and became part of the local business community. Now, he looks forward to reconnecting with that community in a new way.

“I was part of the local business community in Plymouth for two years when I had my restaurant,” Jeff says. “I’m looking forward to getting back into the community and serving people in a different way.”

With BrightStar Care, Jeff is building a resilient business that aligns both his entrepreneurial goals and his desire to make a meaningful impact.

FAQs

Q: What is BrightStar Care?

A: BrightStar Care® is a national home health care and medical staffing franchise dedicated to providing skilled and non-medical care for individuals and families in their homes. Every location is independently owned and operated by franchisees who share a commitment to quality, compassion, and community service.

Q: Do I need a healthcare background to open a BrightStar Care location?

A: No. Many BrightStar Care franchise owners come from non-medical backgrounds. The model is built so owners can lead operations, hire clinical professionals, and leverage the brand’s systems and resources.

Q: Why is home health care considered resistant to automation and AI?

A: Home healthcare requires empathy, personal interaction, and clinical judgment. While technology can support healthcare operations, the human element of caregiving makes it difficult to replace with automation or artificial intelligence.
