Before entering the world of franchising, Rob worked in the pharmaceutical industry for fifteen years, gaining valuable insights into the healthcare sector. During this time, he reflected on his future and concluded it was the right time to explore potential franchising opportunities and different industries. Reflecting on his experiences with the need for quality care growing up, Rob sought franchise opportunities in the home healthcare industry.

Rob's journey with BrightStar Care began with acquiring existing locations in Melbourne, Florida, and establishing a new location in 2021. This leap into franchise ownership brought forth invaluable lessons. "Success in home health boils down to being in the recruiting business," Rob emphasizes. He quickly realized the paramount importance of exceptional recruitment efforts and mastering customer service.

"We had to understand our employees and their struggles deeply," he said. This lesson helped Rob and his wife realize their impact on their employees and the importance of upholding the correct values. Rob's hiring strategies have undergone a transformational shift since then, emphasizing passion over experience. “We've found that those driven by the job often become our best assets," he notes. This change in focus towards personalities and client connections has fostered trust and reliability. However, the impact on the community became the most fulfilling aspect of Rob's franchise ownership.

"We witnessed the positive impact on families, especially in keeping couples together longer through essential home healthcare," he states. “The biggest reward is the ability to keep families together for the longest time possible.”

Extending Care through Medically Home

At BrightStar Care, one of our national accounts is our enduring home healthcare partnership with Medically Home, a healthcare provider that operates a decentralized care model for patients with severe, complex, or high-risk illnesses. Their mission is to provide hospital-level care within the home environment.

Through our delivery and mission to provide the highest standard of quality care, we help facilitate Medically Home’s model of “hospital-at-home” care, which is meeting an ever-growing demand for this service in the senior population.

Rob’s agency has fully embraced this concept, collaborating with institutions like the Cleveland Clinic to extend the hospital to the home and provide communities and families with the highest standard of quality care when they need it the most. “To be able to be part of that program is immensely rewarding. There are so many experiences I cherish through that,” Rob states. “We ensure we give our clients and the families we serve the most comfortable situation and high satisfaction. That is something we are proud to be a part of.”
